Praying for Dads

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers,
intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone.

(1 Timothy 2:1)

Let us pray for fathers . . .

  • who are out of work and those who are out of control.
  • raising step-children and those working on raising the level of integrity in their lives.
  • feeling overburdened who need to unburden their concerns, giving them to the Lord.
  • building a new home and those struggling to build a savings account.
  • striving to imitate Christ and also for those no longer intimate with their wives.
  • coping with thoughts of divorce and those having difficulty coping after divorce.
  • in physical pain and those who are trying to keep from causing physical pain.
  • grieving a loss and those rejoicing at finding God’s eternal promises of life.
  • dealing with aging and others who are dealing with aging parents.
  • who are feeling lost and those who seem to have lost compassionate feelings.
  • who are honoring their wives and families and in doing this, are honoring God.
  • growing in their faith and others who are dying due to lack of faith.
  • traveling on business and those who are busy traveling back to God’s ways.
  • who never see their children and for children who don’t know their fathers.
  • expecting a child and those expecting other kinds of miracles.
  • battling diseases or handicaps and all fathers battling the disease of sin.
  • learning to worship in Spirit and truth and those who have difficulty telling the truth.
  • burdened by guilt and those freed by God’s forgiveness.
  • behind prison walls and those living in other kinds of sin-imposed prisons.
  • putting work before God and family and those working at putting God first.
  • addicted to substances and others who are working at a substantive friendship.
  • dealing with the empty-nest syndrome and those with an empty-heart syndrome.
  • putting their child(ren) through school and those putting themselves through school.
  • who are teenagers and those with teenagers.
  • who pray and are strengthened by knowing others are praying for them.
