814 Ideas for Mother’s Day (Give or take 800…)

by Tim Wesemann

  • Will Mother’s Day recognition gifts stretch your church budget? Invite a men’s group to purchase items for the ladies. In turn, a woman’s group might be interested in sponsoring gifts for Father’s Day.
  • Recruit children and youth to hand out gifts to the ladies of your church on Mother’s Day. (There’s no doubt the women will enjoy receiving them from a child.)
  • Have Sunday school children write a note or design a gift tag to include with each Mother’s Day gift.
  • Pastors might use the gift’s theme and Scripture reference as a title and text for their Mother’s Day message. (See CTA’s free resources for theme-based devotions; these can serve as a great starting point for sermon preparation.)
  • Consider coordinating your sanctuary’s Mother’s Day decorations with the colors of the gifts.
  • Order enough gifts so you can include gifts for members who are homebound or in assisted-living situations. Form teams and deliver the gifts on Mother’s Day.
  • Plan ahead so you can mail gifts to women serving in the military or give them to family members to share upon their return.
  • If you’re associated with a preschool or Mom’s Day Out ministry, order additional gifts for mothers from your community who are not affiliated with your church.
  • For information about personalizing your gifts, call CTA’s custom division toll free at 1-877-514-8098.
  • Does your church partner with an area crisis pregnancy center? CTA gifts with a Christ-centered message might truly bless those moms-to-be.
  • If you order CTA mugs or tumblers for your moms this year, purchase some extras to keep in your church’s kitchen or staff work room. They will help everyone remain Christ-centered and encouraged.
  • Use CTA gifts for women (and men) for year-round hospitality events or as gifts to take along when you visit families new to your church or community.
  • Use one of CTA’s product themes as the theme for this year’s women’s retreat.
  • Ask yourself: “Is this the opportune moment to recognize your pastor’s spouse with a special gift?” Consider one of these Wrapped and Ready® gift packages.
