Editor’s note: This prayer is taken from the newest book in CTA’s care ministries product line, Praying with Hope: Leaning on Jesus. Written by Tim Wesemann, it follows this author’s popular titles, Grieving with Hope, Facing Illness with Hope, and Facing Difficult Days with Hope. It will be available soon. Watch for it!

Father, by your invitation

I bring my prayers to you.

Prayers of praise and repentance,

Prayers for myself and for others,

  for whatever, for whomever

is on my mind and heart,

Using few words or many words,

  or even one word,

  like “Help!” or “Thanks!”

I will always pray with hope.

Not an “I hope so” kind of hope,

but a sure and certain hope!

A certain hope that you will

  hear me and answer me

  according to your perfect will,

  in your perfect timing,

and through your perfect Son, Jesus,

in whose name I pray. Amen.
