CTA – What’s in a name?

Our customers know us as CTA. But many times when I tell people about this company/ministry they ask, “What does CTA stand for?” It’s an appropriate question. CTA = Christian Tools of Affirmation. Here’s what happened. When Steve and Diane Darr founded this company years ago, it was called CTA-Christian Teachers Aid. They began simply by producing products focused on encouraging teachers. (Diane served for years as a Christian teacher and knew their needs.) But as the company grew, it became more than obvious that our products and vision moved well beyond teachers. We soon recognized that “CTA” was already a name people had come to know and rely on. We didn’t want people to think we were just about serving teachers. Understandably, the Darr’s wanted to keep the initials/acronym. This is a company about providing resources–tools, if you will–to encourage and build up the body of Christ. The word affirmation serves as a synonym for encouragement. So there you have it. CTA – Christian Tools of Affirmation. But our friends call us CTA.
